about

Lyrically you could divide the song into three segments.

The first verse is a look outward, at the world at large. There is a sense of distrust about where we are going as a society, as a species. A lot of it has to do with blindly asserting blame to certain groups of people or putting faith in just one person, who's sitting somewhere at the top.

The second verse is totally different; it's a look inward, it's about failing miserably at life, not knowing how life should be lived or how to stay away from hopelessness or dead ends. These two verses are thus quite opposite in how they emphasize a perspective.
The last part is where the lesson comes in, it is to try to get a grip on how you let yourself get carried away by delusional ways of looking at the world and judging yourself, and trying to keep a healthy perspective, both inward and outward.

I'm guessing you couldn't get this meaning straight from the lyrics upon reading them. But I always like to keep things abstract as a means of giving way for different interpretations.

lyrics

We are carrying the archaic
Innocence served on a plate
And who’s to blame now who to upbraid
We are pleading all in favor
All in favor for your blame
Please come and claim your entitled shame
All in favor for your blame
We’re blinded by a fakeness

Simple minded every morning
Heal my broken will
I thought of every way to rearrange the craze inside
If this too shall pass how come I’m back again

Gonna be a
Gonna be a lesson to be learned
Gonna be the lesson to be learned // ease the pain
Gonna be a lesson I should learn
